Mori Girls – Odd, quirky cute.

March 24, 2010

The mori girls (森ガール) belong to a Japanese subculture. ‘Mori’ means forest in Japanese, and mori girls look like fairytale forest wanderers in their loose dresses, vintage prints and quaint accessories. Mori girls choose to live their lives on their own terms, stopping to appreciate the little things that others overlook amidst the hustle and bustle of daily life.

Found out about this blog dedicated to Mori girls and this article in New York Times talking about ‘living dolls’ in the recent Japanese scene.

Lust comes with a price

March 17, 2010

I really like these shoes, imported from Korea, found on half-a-day blogshop.

They are really beautiful. But I’m cheapskate and a tad bit skeptical on buying shoes online. I wonder anyone knows where I can get similar shoes and try them on?

Monotone Men

March 24, 2009

As I struggle to find the perfect gray pants I came across these outfits which I added on my ‘I NEED TO HAVE THIS!!!’ list. I mean guys don’t have much of a choice and I am SO VERY sick of the usual…we don’t get that much to play, with like silhouettes, but maybe its for a good reason…anyway here’s what I thought was different, unique or cool~ Please ignore my love for black, white and gray, I am just crazy about them, it might be simple and safe, but also classic :)

Purplexed!

March 22, 2009

Ehem. The other Rooomies are, lemme see, busy(?) or they have forgotten about our little Roooom blog here.

Haha, the least fashionable member will be the first to blog about Fashion!

So, here’s something I had in mind:

Royal Inspurplation

I have been thinking about what to wear to my colleague’s garden wedding this coming April. I have about a month from now. (But we all know how fast 30 days fly past.) The guests will be colour-coded by their outfit. And somehow, Helena has decided that her ‘colleagues’ are PURPLE.

So, I went purply-beserk today, exploring Flickr images for inspiration (as shown above). Am thinking of dashes of purple in the outfit rather than the whole and been toying with the idea of hair in purple streaks.

There’s hardly a single purple thing in my closet. Come to think of it, I don’t even have a set of purple earrings or socks. Okay, there was this purplish grey bracelet. And a long metallic purple necklace. Which both are quite hard to pair up for a garden party outfit.

Anyway, either it’s another treasure hunting for vintage outfit from my mum, or a call to the girls for a shopping spree! Which I like the second idea better! Haha XD
